Jared Sprowls is a Chicago based playwright, artist, and occasional drag performer whose work hopes to examine societal taboos and bring voice to what often goes unsaid. Born and raised in Washington, DC/Maryland, he came to Chicago to attend Northwestern University and has been here ever since. He graduated with a degree in theatre and dance and completed an undergraduate thesis in “Adapting Drag for Conventional Theatrical Forms.” Theatrically, he has had the pleasure of working with companies such as Victory Gardens, Jackalope Theatre Company, The New Colony and Sideshow Theatre. Jared will begin his MFA candidacy in Dramatic Writing at Arizona State University in August where he will continue to add to his portfolio of queer, Jewish work through an anti-racist lens.
